Hi there,
can they get someone for contempt of court for not repaying a debt. It's for a credit card and it's a civil matter. Can they put a warrant out for that person and how long before the person would know about the warrant?

Thanks Mary

one cannot be held in contempt for owing a debt. however, depending on your state, if there is a judgment against you then there are a few ways you can be held in contempt for matters relating to the judgment. we would need more information on exactly what is going on.
