I've been getting calls on my cell phone from 866-396-7770 several times a day for about three months. No one ever speaks when I answer, and when I call the number I am put on hold forever, so haven't been able to speak to anyone to find out what they want.
I do get messages left on my voicemail, but they are recordings that just say to call back (without leaving a phone number) and what their hours of operation are. I did a Google search and found out the number is affiliated with Allied Interstate.
Can I send a Cease and Desist letter even though I don't know what they are calling about, and if it's even me who they are trying to get in touch with?

Absolutely! Tell them to send you a dunning statement also! The
Absolutely! Tell them to send you a dunning statement also! The problem is that they have many offices around the country! Try to find the one closest to where you live and that is probably the one calling you! They are known for having poorly trained collectors and were described as a "class action suit waiting to happen" by Bud Hibbs site!
