i am getting calls from william sokol's office and the people are being very nasty saying they will garnish my wages and take me to court. are these calls for real, or what.

I was being harrassed by this office too. I was told by the consolidation company I am working with that this office is only a collection agency, NOT a lawyers office. I did end up settling my accounts, but if you are unable to do that do not fret over their calls. There is nothing they can do about this. Set up a payment aggangement that is managable for YOU.
