I read the letter posted on you page and was shocked. I have had the same calls. The caller is very Asian and hard to understand. The background noise sounds like a Jerry Lewis Telethon. They call my office and my cell numerous times and leave threatening messages that they are with the United States legal investigative department and they are filing charges against my social security number, they say it is very important that I return the call or be arrested. I have called back once and they would not tell me what the debt is for, I asked them to send me something by mail so I can see who they are and where they are located. They said it is impossible for them to mail me anything but I needed to pay them immediately. I told them I was not just going to give money to someone who calls me on the phone. Then they threatened me and said they will be filing charges against my SS# and family members also. They have even called my daughter about this and she did not know what to say. I have had a Bruce Smith from this company call me and his phone number is 203-266-3500. I am so glad that I found this web page because I did not know what to do. If you decide to call and have "fun" would you please share it with me. I now know what I can say to them. thank you

Collection agencies often use scary names to make their threats sound official. You were clever not to give out your information to them. You may also consider filing a complaint against them with the state authorities.
