I am so upset. I received a summons today from a cc I had back in 2008. I called the attorney on the summons. The balance is about $2500. She told me they would settle for $2100 and close the case. I told her I would call her back tomorrow to let her know what I decide to do. At first she told me I could do a six month payment plan for $450 a month! I only work 16 hours a week! There is no way I can afford the $450 a month, and she said if I did the payment plan there would still be a judgement against me. what does that mean?

thanks soaplady. I'm thinking of just settling this so it goes away. I have read some terrible things about Britt. When I call tomorrow I'm going to tell them to fax the settlement letter stating they are dropping the suit against me. My court date is set for July 13 :(
