Asset Acceptance bottom feeders

As of three weeks ago, Asset Acceptance recently pulled my credit report, illegally, for a debt that was from either 2005 or 2006. They have called me 5 times as of today, at least twice a week. I have asked every time they have called to validate the debt, and also for my acct number, etc. They will not give me any info. I asked where the debt validation letter was that I requested, they said they sent several...in 2007! LOL
I told them, every time they have called ,that the statute of limtiations is up (I live in MD) and that I am recording calls. Unfortunately, I really was not recording the calls although I wish I was because they outright admitted that my debt was incurred in 2005-2006 and is uncollectible. They have, however, told me that by federal law, they are still allowed to call me and ask for repayment and do not have to provide any documentation since the debt is several years old.
So....what to do. First, it shows on my credit report as recently active and it isn't. Second they have called me five times (I can get phone records), third I have asked for debt validation which they flat out refuse to do. I need to send them a written letter not to contact me via telephone and that the statute of limitations is up, but since they won't give me an account number or anything else i.e., mailing addy I don't know how to do this.
Needless to say, I am irrate. Not only with the fact that they illegally pulled my credit report and lied to say the activity has been recent when it hasn't, but that they are now calling my unlisted number.
Any advice and help is appreciated, thanks for listening!!

do a search in th bar topright for ASSETT ACCEPTANCE.you should find an address to send a C&D(cease and desist)letter.btw they can,and should be sued for re-aging a time-barred debt.you will see from other threads this is not only a bottomfeeder, but probably the worst of the lot.

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it. What would the reference be in the letter since I don't have their account number, etc. I really don't want to include my social security number in the letter.
As to pursuing them re-aging the debt, would I have to pay an atty upfront for this? I'd like to see Asset Acceptance get theirs, but don't want to spend my hard-earned money to do so.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

you should send a limited cease and desist letter. you want them to be able to write you. you just dont want them to call you. if you send a cease and desist letter and dont specify, they will have no choice but to sue you.
you should start writing them letters, have some sort of tracking number when you mail the letter.
at some point find out (sooner than later) what their permissible purpose was in obtaining your credit report. dispute the credit inquiry as you would any other defect on your credit report
