Hello all.....has anyone heard of this collection agency? I owed on a payday loan and they threatened me with the constable coming to my house with a court order. They called my brother's in-laws, not even relatives to me and told them that they were calling to see if I knew about my court date. How embarrassing was that. His name was Alex Vega or Andrew Vega and he was a process server. Well as it turns out, they scared me and I made a payment to them already. They told me that if the payment goes back to them for any reason, they were going to proceed with the court order. I borrowed $200, they took $188 out of my account and I still owe them $188. Can anyone tell me if this is legit? I received no paperwork from them or anything.

As per the FDCPA rules, a debt collector should send you a letter giving all the details of the debt. If you can, put a hard debit block on your accounts so that they can't take away money from your account any more. Tell the CA to send you a letter stating your total debt amount and the amount you've paid back. Also tell them that if they don't, you'll file a case with the FTC since they've broken FDCPA rules.
