Sincerely,
Northland Group, Inc."
it also says that it's regarding: Providian and account owner is: Erin Capital Management
so one of their agents called me and said that they want to settle. i didn't admit anything to what they said was true. they also said that my last payment was on 2005 and that was my last activity.
what should i do? i live in California, and i don't know which kind of SOL this falls under. should i write them a letter asking for a debt verification and proof? Or should i settle? since i'm getting married soon, i don't think i'll have the money to pay that much anytime soon.
thanks!

not really, they are attempting to collect on a time-barred debt, and trying strongarm tactics.i would point out in your DV letter that this debt is past SOL.i personally would do as SOAPLADY advised.a total C&D,or FOAD letter.
