Help with Suttell & Hammer

I have been served a summons for court appearance from Suttell and Hammer for a credit card debt from Capital One. My debt is $2800. I have attempted to settle with them and so has the debt settlement company that I have been working with and had no success. I live in E. WA and am unemployed and a single mom. I cannot afford an expensive attorney, but have to appear in court in Wenatchee on Sept. 24th to respond to their complaint. What suggestions does anyone have?

Look at your credit card agreement. It should have an arbitration clause. Send S&H a letter electing arbitration and same letter to Capital One using the address in your CC agreement. This should get them out of court. That will help bring them to the table for a settlement agreement. Worked for me, twice.
