now they want to garnish my wages
Date: Fri, 09/17/2010 - 14:14
I am being charge almost 3 times the amount of my old debt.
When I first was contacted by North Star and I asked them for a break down of the money owed they told me that they could not give me that information. Finally I caved after spending 140.00 through the court to demand that info. They then sent the breakdown only once I said I would try to work something out with them paying them 100.00 per month. I sent two payments and couldn't send the third. They are now wanting to garnish my wages.
I believe my actual amount I owed was around 900.00 now they want 2,400.00, after i have already sent them 200.00. This is so crazy, can they do that?
What can I do?

When an account is placed for collections, the creditor supplies the CA with minimal information....breakdown of your balance is not one of them. Creditor does all the interest and late fee accruals.
