I just wanted to let people know that there are collection companies that are now using Facebook to find people. Their is a news article of one such company in Orlando, Fl being sued for doing exactly that, www.local6.com. They evidently found one woman and used her FB to harrass her and family members. How low can these places go?!

I imagine collectors have been using FB and Myspace for a while now, in order to find people. Some people put their cell phone numbers, address and all kinds of other private info out there on FB. It's an easy way to find people, if they publicly share the info - that's their foolishness. Harassing someone via FB obviously isn't right. This might serve as a good lesson for people, however, to protect their personal info rather than sharing it on a public forum.

Hey, thanks for the heads up - I rechecked my privacy settings and alerted my children (not that they are being hounded by collectors). It's amazing how much of our personal info is out there floating around. Scary.....
