Notice of Complaint rules in Washington State

I am being sued by a debt collector. They came to my apt and left a notice of complaint on the doorstep where several people (rd parties could see it) is this a violation that could have the case thrown out in the State of Washington?

Have you check the rules for civil service in you county/state?
