Original lender is Advance America. I took out this loan in 2007. A lot was going on at that time that I was not able to pay them back. I did not close my bank, my bank froze it and eventually closed it. (which I had to pay them all the overdrawn). I was scammed so many times by companies that did not exist  this past 2-3 years regarding a payday loans. And yes, I was one of them who paid all those money and to basically just strangers. I did not know about all this at that time. Long story short, National Credit Adjusters has been sending me letters regarding on my balance with Advance America for almost 2 years and I did write them a letter for validation but I did not certify it (mistake). I got that loan back when I was living in Alabama now live in Connecticut. I just got a phone call from a company called Rosenthal, Stein, and Associates. They state that NCA sent them my infos for court. The guy I spoke to was nice to me and I did state to him that I am unable to pay them anything, I am currently unemployed. I am stressing out about this and I am 6 months pregnant. I can't sleep. I am worried. It was weird at first when I talked to this guy. He gave me my recent contact and he stated that this was the infos I gave NCA recently which wasn't true because like I said that was back in 2007 and I recently moved. He also told me that NCA has been reporting this debt to my credit this past years so I should know about it even if I didn't get their letters or didn't respond. (did to). I told him that I monitor my credit and I do not see anything in my credit. (i pulled my credit again after we got off the phone and still nothing). I guess. I'm trying to get a hold of NCA to see if I could get them to send me another letter so I can validate it but this is worrying me to death. yes I know I should've paid, please don't go there. Can they sue me even if I took the loan out in Alabama and now live in Connecticut? What other actions can I take?

This is a bit of a mess right here. The thing is that these people are got all worked up because the SoL was about to expire (in this case the AL One would apply which is 6 years). Here are a couple of questions: Did you acknowledge that you owe the debt? When was the approximate date you stopped paying on the loan? And yes, you could get sued over this, provided that these morons do actually own the debt. Your immediate move should be to contact this Rosenthal and Stein people, ask them for their address and send them a DV request via CMRRR. There is a fair chance they might not respond to it and just take you to court. If they do drop that bomb and send you summons, do appear in court and ask for validation during discovery.

MOD NOTE:DO YOU UNDERSTAND ANYTHING ABOUT COLLECTIONS STEVE???  ROSENTHAL IS A COLLECTION AGENCY IN ANOTHER STATE....THEY CANNOT SUE.
