Validation Letters

Ok so I got a copy of my credit report and found a couple things on my report that I wasnt aware of. With the help of the web site I sent my validation letters certified to each company also set validation letters to the credit buearus. I recieved a letter back from one of the companies stating they had sold the account to another company and they would pass the information on. This is where my question is at. The company that they sold it to does not show on my credit report on the company that said they sold the account. Now what do I do? Do I write back to the first company stating if they can not provide information on this aledge account they have to delete it. Or do I have to start all over with the company they sold the account to.

In my opinion, you should write to first company stating that they should remove their listing from your credit report if they don't own the account. It is new company which should report the account to the credit bureaus as they own your account.
