I just received a phone call from a debt collector

I just received a phone call from a debt collector from an old payday loan I had back in 08'. The collector said she was an investigator and threatened to have me arrested. I told her I wanted to get it taken care of and payed. She wanted to settle with me, but I told her I couldn't pay until next month. She said if I didn't pay them by the 28th, I would then have to go to court. The amount is for 375.00 and I usually don't have that money floating around. I told her I had to get someone to help me pay it then. She wouldn't let me get off the phone without giving her a checking account number and routing number. She said she wouldn't use the info unless I never pay the debt. Well I didn't trust her to not take it out that day so I changed the last number of each. She called my mother first and almost gave my mother a heart attack. She told my mother she would have me taken to jail too. I am afraid they will garnish my joint bank account. I feel very afraid to give these people my account information. It's what my family needs to make it.
