Hi, I had previously (like 2-3 years ago) had an account with a DVD online company and paid for my first 1st DVD, months later they said I had a balance of $50.01 because i had to pay for two DVD's at regular price determined by their contract, so I told them I wanted to cancel my account, they agreed to cancel it but said I would still have to pay the amount owed so I told them I would purchase the two DVD's because I don't want to pay for something and just don't receive it, so I told them to send me another form so I could choose the DVD's that I want. I haven't received the form but today some guy called me and said he was calling from a collection agency and asked for my bank number, type of card ect. I did not give him any info. because how was I to be sure he was who he said he was and told him I would have to call him back. Now I 'm trying to contact the DVD company and I am not getting through at all. What should I do now? I don't mind paying the money but I would still like the DVD's and to get everything cleared up.

I would continue to try to reach the DVD company and let them know that you're happy to fulfill your contract but would like to receive the merchandise in exchange for payment. Do they have a website? You might try reaching them that way as well. As far as the collection agency goes, I would ask that they send you a letter of collection and, once you receive it, send a debt validation letter to them.
