Threatening phone calls

Please, please help me. I, too. have been receiving phone calls here at work and at home saying that I have been investigated and that here is a file on me. They threatened to tell the people on my job and have someone put me in jail. They always have a thick accent.
I've had this problem before with them. They know the last four digits of my SS# and I'm just terrified. I recognize the number when they call, so I don't answer or call back.
Please what should I do. I could leave you their number and the name. Please, please help me.

They are, most probably, a scam. They have already violated FDCP
They are, most probably, a scam. They have already violated FDCPA rules by threatening you over the phone. File a case against them with your local police authority, the FTC and your states' Attorney Generals' office. You can provide the details which will help us to provide you more specific info about them.
