I got a call from a guy today, named harvey from spillman and spillman. They said they got my file from Titan Group LLC, a payday loan that ive defaulted on 2 months ago. He said he was sending a warrant for me to be picked up at work tomarrow. I never raised my voice once, but at first he was nice with me because I said I'd try and get the money. After letting my daughters dad know about the call... (his dad is attorney, and he is in law school) He said that there is SO WAY that there is any truth to this. Ask them to fax a copy of the information they have. I called and asked... and then he got rude, calling me a loser and such. My daughters dad spoke with him, and they arnt even a law office. He said they were "mediators" said that for a warrant even to be placed, a judge needs to sign it.
I obviously didnt default on purpose... I had my car break down and couldnt make ends meet. Of course this is my own fault... but I wanted to know if anyone had any info on this spillman group? Or had this problem with Titan group? I cant even find a phone number for them.
My loan was for $200, and they wanted me to pay $430 and change today.
THANKS!

He also said they were getting the media involved because they wanted to make an example out of me. they said I was going to be arrested because I had more than one outstanding payday loan, and they could charge me with wire fraud. (I have 3 outstanding. All 200.)

again they are lying to scare you into paying.file AG,and FTC complaints against them.they can't and won't have you arrested.debts are civil matters.the only fraud commited was by them claiming your are going to be arrested.

I received a call from a gentleman at my work place (he called from VCS group), stating that they have a warrant for me and they will picking me up from my job. he stated that I have an outstanding loan from Titan Group LLC. Can they threaten you with a warrant. Should I contact my local police Department?

I just got another call from this gentleman from this VCS group, his name is John. I hung up on him and he called back and told my co worker that I was going to get arrested. Is this harassment? I never received any written information about this situation, what can I do?

yes it is harassment. Unfortunately there is probably not much you can do if they are calling outside of the United States. Do you have the phone number where they are calling from? If you do post it so I can search around a bit.

If they are in the USA then you can sue them just by the statement made to a co-worker that you will be arrested. All you would need is for them to agree to testify if you do sue them.

Post as much info as you can without posting personal info.

The phone number is 1-877-572-7572 ext 106. If I recall right, the guy name is John. And when you call the group name is VCS. Also, when you put in that ext. he will answer investigation.

Ahhh that's who they are. If that is the case go to bud hibbs or the NACA.net website and find an attorney to sue them. Ask the guy if his name is John D. Yim or Jon Hummel.....lol then tell him he can f off and die IF they tell you you will be arrested again.

Also if you can record calls in your state without telling the other party do it. Some states you have to have permission, in that case tell them you are recording the call.

I have a pay day loan with Titan LLC. I borrowed $300 and they've debited my account for $90 every payday for at least 3 to 4 months. I called to ask them to take out funds for the principle to pay down the loan, but I get no response. Yet, like clockwork, they debit my account every pay day. Is there a limit to how long and how much they can debit? So far, I figure I've paid about $720 on a $300 loan.

I also did a stupid thing (another one - I was desperate at this time last year - husband lost job, etc. - things are starting to look up now) - and took out a payday loan from Titan Group. It was $325.00. Paid them back a total of $600.00 before I got smart and closed my bank account. Last July a Sentinel Financial & Consulting Group starting contacting, harassing me at work , etc. for a $1,272.00 that I owed Titan Group - actually scared me to hire an attorney - they backed off. Now a JED Assets Management has contacted me for an additional $672.00. I've "settled" for an additional $400.00 -we'll see. In the meantime, I am filing complaints with the FTC and contacting the NYS Attorney General's Office. I asked if the offices were worked in conjuctino with one another - of course they don't.

I have a PDL through Titan Group, LLC too. I am not in default yet, though I will be next month. I dread the impending phone calls, but this has forearmed me. Thanks guys!

I am declaring bankruptcy because of payday loans. Does anyone have a physical address for this company (or Yellowdale.com) so I can notify them of the BK case?

I agreed, and said that i would not be able to pay it in full...but i could make payments. so they want me to make 115 payments....so i asked if i could send a check in the mail,...and they said no you have to have it on a credit card, or a pre paid card...which is bull........

these PDL'S could be very misleading and you should not give out any payments till you do not have anything in writing from them more over asking you to pay via card instead of a check sounds fishy because if it is the money that they want i don't see a problem with checks . Don't do any thing till you don't have something in writing form them and you will be able to get a hold of things again.

I too took a payday loan through Titan because I was in a situation where my husband was laid off and I was the sole money maker. I tried calling last week to tell them checkingwas closed and i had a new account to make the payments and that i wanted to sign up for the pay down option and no one ever called me back. I called today and they said that it had been turned over to a collection agency and they were unable to speak to me. They said that they didn't know how or when the collection agency would be contacting me and that they might be going through their attorneys. I am really scared now and don't know what to do. This was the first time a payment wasn't made.

CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

PDL are legal in my state (Oregon) but they are only allowed to charge you once a month, and it can only be around $20 for each hundred you borrowed, along with a one time start up fee.

This company is going against all my state laws when they charge me $90, for my little $300 loan, every two weeks.

There needs to be an easier way to have these companies governed.

I took out a loan with Titan in Feb for 250..they were deducting my acct $75 once or twice or month, when I called them after a few months to ask why they were still taking money out they were VERY NASTY and said I should read my documents and I have't paid on the loan just the interest..THEN i get a call from the Law offices of William Sokal and they call me constantly being rude!! Then today I get a call from a company saying they've tried to serve me papers for court and have been unsuccessful and they will serve my employer to take me to court...AND that now I owe over $600 for a $250 loan plus court cost and their fees!! Then when I told the guy I was being contacted by William Sokal he had no idea who that was and asked for their number! This is confusing and stressful! It's my only PDL..I will NEVER do one again!! Nobody has come trying to serve me cause somebody is always at my home, I'm not sure what to do..I'm in the state of South Carolina and can't figure out the laws on this

The best thing to do when you have issues like this is to contact a consumer attorney. The National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) has a website where you can easily connect to attorneys who work in this field. The website is www.naca.net. Select the "find an attorney" tab, put in your state, select "debt collection", click whatever box makes the most sense (FDCPA, Not My Debt, Harassment and Abuse, etc.), and then click the search button to the left. A few attorneys will come up so the best thing to do is to (starting at the middle or bottom, because the top names probably get the most inquiries) send out a form email explaining the situation to all of the attorneys listed. If you leave your contact information, the interested lawyers should get back to you. Good luck.

I have also been harassed by a lady from Titan group named Christine Reed who called me very foul names and told me there was a warrant for my arrest for "fraudulant activity in a checking account". They have accessed my checking account for $450 however, I have never received a letter of notification regarding this debt or the ability to dispute it, and when I request an address of where to send my formal letter of complaint I am told I cannot have this. Is anyone familiar with how to contact them? Do I file a complaint with the AG or the Federal Trade Commission? Where do I even start?

I got the same call, after calling back and asking for the company that was calling me name. No one could give me that information. So, I asked the rep that was calling me to give the number or contact info for Titan Group and was told they will not talk to me only them. Which sounded a little weird. I have never heard anything like it. If a company is trying to settle a debt why would they want to talk to the debtor. It's a scam..
The company that is calling me answers their phone with Hello. NO legit company will answer the phone with hello. When I looked up the telephone number I came up with a residence not a company.

Does anyone know the web address(es) for the site where they originally applied for the payday loans? I am in Pennsylvania and our PA Dept of Banking is investigating several companies, Titan being one of them. I took out a PDL with Titan over a year ago for $300. After paying over $1500 to them I was advised to close my account because I was unable to contact them to have it paid in full. So after paying them back 5 times more than what I borrowed in less than a year I feel my debt has been paid in full. However, they do not. I get calls at work and at home everyday! No matter what I say to them they still call. I made a complaint and now I am being asked what website I made the loan on and I just cannot remember.

If any of you can remember the site(s) you applied on it may jog my memory.

Thank you!

I had a payday loan of 500.00. After paying back 700.00 I closed that account. The site I went to was cashnetusa.com. Now two years after I closed the account I am getting calls from the Titan Group llc. stating I owe 1400.00 I only took out one loan and paid it back they tried to keep taking more money but closed the account. Now they are calling my relatives also my wifes family. They leave messages stating " I am being investigated for a possible criminal offense" heard with my own ears on my aunts answering machine. The number they say to call is 1877-308-9574. I called to find out what it was about originally and they asked me to confirm certain information about me which I did not because if they called me they should know these things. All I told them was my name. They were very harrassing and called me a "loser" and a "bum". Later they called me back and said I would be arrested at my job in 24 hours if I did not pay them.

report them immediately!first file a police report as they can't have you arrested as debts are civil matters.next have everyone this sack of wet dog hair called file a police report as they broke the law in threatening you,and leaving those messages.third file AG.AND FTC complaints against titan as they are illegal and you paid them so you owe nothing.lastly when these losers, bums, and scum call hang up without a word as they don't deserve even a word.do that and ignore the chumps.they can't do a thing they say they will.in fact when you are not arrested they will call and insult your intelligenge by claiming that call never happened.report them, and ignore them.

We made the mistake of getting involved with this company as well. We didnt fully understand how pdl worked. They have been takeing 90 ever 2 weeks for over a year. We have asked them to pay it off and they did not and continued to take payments. I just emailed, faxed and plan to call in a few minutes when they open, telling them they no longer have permission to take money from our acct. and that if another debit is taken out I will have no choice but to put it in my lawyers hands. I have also just realized that they are illegal in NY. I just want this nightmare over!

you must close your account now!!!!!!!!!! this place will not abide by your demand to not debit.they will debit forever if you allow it.btw since you are in NY and yes all pdl's are illegal you not only owe nothing, but they owe you if they have been debiting for a year.another btw titan is not based in the US so i don't know if your lawyer can do much.close that account and file AG,AND FTC complaints.also ignore their attempts at contact after you have closed that account.that is the only way.

I am in Texas, and i had a payday loan of $200, i am trying to allow them to collect the rest of the money but i lost the contact information for that company... i am stuck now because they are drafting refinancing fees and i can't contact them to tell them to take the rest of the money out, does anyone have the contact number for them so i can finish this loan off without anymore refinancing charges?

well first let me ask this question.

how much did they debited in "finance charges"thus far?you see if the amount they debited meets,or exceeds the 200.00 then close that account and open a new one as this place doesn't want you to contact so they can debit indefinitely.again if the debits taken meet or exceed the 200.00 borrowed you owe nothing.the only way to stop them is to close your account.

They let me borrow 300.00 deposited into my account I had paid them back in payments, three already, one for 100, two for 136.67 cents, total of $373.34.
On their contract it stated that I will be owing them $419.00 dollars back I had agreed, but just recently they tried to fork out 136.67 from my account totaling all together $510.01. Fact was that they weren't able to get 136.67 dollars from my account so therefore they left a treating message saying that " because balance was not taken it out, that now full balance has been reset to orginal owed balance and, that I have to pay complete balance all over again with full interest, a total of 536.00 dollars. But if account as she said is reseted then they are trying to fork out not only the balance I already gave them of $373.67 but an additional 536.00 a total of 913.67. At first I thought maybe I just misinterpreted the message, but behold they went back to my original account that I told them not to touch anymore, and they electroniclly tried to pull out 90.00 dollars twice, and succeeded to withdraw only $90.00 of it. So therefore I disputed this with my account and, had to do stop payment on one account and, cancel out my Visa check card from other account, the account that I told them to withdraw, because I will not pay 913.67 cents for 300 dollars they let me borrow, I agreed to contract of 419.00 I should only owe them like $45.00 dollars so don't understand how they tried to fork out $180.00 in one shot from my account, that is when I took treatening phone call serious and took desperate percaucion with both my accounts...
