I have never dealt with them. I would follow the normal procedure. Have you got anything in writing? Also, request that they don't call you at work. They have to abide by this. Send them a debt validation letter. They aren't allowed to contact you until they can validate the debt.
I hope this helps.

Haha! I received another call from them today, different dude. This time telling me I owed $500 and supposedly had an NSF with them, and that if I agreed to send a Moneygram, he would "go talk to the attorneys upstairs and get them to hold the account so they don't proceed to litigation."
Um, okay. How did a supposed $63 debt suddenly become a $500 debt?

This organization is a simple collection agency operating out of Northern New York. They will threaten with court action and a negative credit reporting. They are constantly changing their company name to avoid the numerous investigations into them and the illegal tactics that they utilize to scare consumers into wiring them money. If you receive a call from them, please DO NOT SEND THEM money, and DO NOT admit that you owe a dime on any account. Remember: They do not have any authority to file charges or motions in a court of law. They are only threats, which are illegal. Simply tell them to send you a validation of the alledged debt. The burden of proof is on the collector, not you. You can contact Anthony Lemons, Consumer Advocate if you have any questions about these scumbag collectors.

These people are crazy. They called me a bunch of times over a bogus credit card debt, trying to get $6,000. They were going to get an off duty officer to come to my house to serve papers for court and turn me in to "the county". These are the same guys. They wouldn't give a physical address where the money was going. I had to send it online, they wanted a bank account # and I had to send it within 24 hrs. Yeah right. I know I don't owe any credit card bills. They threatened to attatch my wages @ work and all kinds of crazy stuff. They even changed their name and tried different tactics but it was all the same hostile guys with threats. It's a total scam. Don't send them any money.
