I get this letter in the mail today stating that I owe $536.Regular company it was from is Cash Direct Express, it says to make check payable to Unified Asset Solutions,LLC.
Steven James de Rosa is the name at the heading of letter. Says to call 855-227-8829 to speak to someone in the outsourced legal department at Unified Asset Solutions,LLC

Send a written request to the collection agency and ask them to validate the debt. Don't pay any money before that. You should also not call at the given number without verifying it. If they can prove that you owe money to the collection agency, then you should settle the debts. Otherwise, send a Cease and Desist letter and request them to stop communicating with you.

what state are you in?cash direct express is not a legal lender in most states.a couple of questions.

1)how much was borrowed
2)how much was debited prior to default
3)state you reside in

you see if this is an illegal loan then you only owe the principle.anything debited in fees goes towards that.if line 2 meets or exceeds line 3 you owe nothing and should pay nothing.i would do as nelly advised and send a DV letter.send it ceritified mail return receipt.even if you do owe you don't owe near the 536.00 they are claiming.send the letter asap and wait.

Do you happen to have an address listed on the letter? I actually receive a call on Tuesday from I think AIG or something and the number was 443-977-4134. I called the number back and they answered the phone with the AIG and said they had the wrong number and my number would be removed from their database. They just called again from a 716-558-7548 but wouldn't tell me what it was for because I would not verify my SSN or DOB. I refuse to give them that information so they claim I should be getting a letter in the mail about some court case. I asked them to send me a letter in the mail regarding what ever it is they say I'm getting sued for but they claimed they couldn't because I didn't verify my information. Never heard of this company which first said AIG or whatever and now saying law offices of Steven De Rosa. I figured they must have messed up in the beginning when they called me from the 443 number. I've been trying to find info on them or at least an address so I can send them a DV or cease and desist letter.

I just got a call from a private # with a return call back # of 855-844-3541 ext. 111...i called back several time before just going to the operator...the operator sent me to the ext. #. I talked to "Dave Wallace" who tried to get me to verify the last four of my social. I wouldn't do it. He told me I couldn't tell me what it was regarding w/o that info. He had a DOB wayyyy off from mine and and address that I haven't lived at for over 2 years as well as an email address that wasn't mine. But he had a current phone # for me. I told him I was a criminal justice major and knew my rights and knew people to verify this # and he put me on hold to see if a supervisor could tell me more and had me on hold for less than a minute and the phone magically disconnected on their end! BOGUS, BOGUS, BOGUS

I also received a phone call from a spoofed number at my place of business and cellphone. When I called the number back it was disconnected. It was from someone claiming they were going to serve me with legal documents within the next two business days. I never got anything!!! Told me to call back 855-844-3542 with a case number. As per the law, they have to send you something in writing within five days of initial contact or they are violating the law. I have not received anything in writing from this bogas company. I have a lawyer and I welcome my day in court with these thieves. They prey on stupid and ignorent people. I guess they figure if you took out a payday loan you have no brains. Surprise!!! Nice try!!!!

Hi jmanly18

It looks like the collection agency has knocked at the wrong door. Anyway, you have done the right thing by not confirming the social security number. You should not reveal any confidential information to any one calling you. If they harass you time and again, you can register a complaint with FTC.

Hi Cecil,

Yes, you are right. It looks like a scam. I don't think you''ll receive any court papers from them.
