Do you think this will go to court and if so, do I have a leg to stand on? I feel the error lies with the phone company who (1) made the non-disclosure error and (2) was offically representing DirectTV. Any opinions?

Also...if they get a judgement against me and I can't pay, what will happen? We are living strictly on Social Security and nothing else. So even if I DID agree that I owed the money, I still can't pay as there is no money left over each month.

Did you ever get in touch with the executive office at direct tv or did you only use there pointless 800 number to explain your case? You may want to consider going to the top, submitting what you have, and just letting them wipe it off the record. If you have the proof you say you do it should be no problem.
