Debt Collector Threatens to Have Me Sent to Jail
Date: Mon, 03/23/2009 - 09:16
Got a call this morning from some idiotic, thick accented collector who said he was with the Internet Fraud Division of US National Bank and if I did not immediately send $950, I would be "downloaded" to the local sheriff's office. I don't know what that means, but it sounds painful.
He said If I don't send the money, I had better get an attorney because I would be arrested at work for internet fraud.
Just how stupid do these clowns think people are? Even if I owed the money, I wouldn't send these bozos squat.
I laughed at him and told him to bite me and hung up. He then called back like 10 straight times, but I wouldn't answer the phone.

there are many, many threads about these jerks. the best bet is to ignore them and do not give them any info. i am not sure how to make the calls stop, as he has been calling me for months.
HAHAHA Guest, sometimes that's the best response. I *never* spok
HAHAHA Guest, sometimes that's the best response. I *never* spoke to a debt collector (or any other telemarketer) on the phone. Ever. Mail only. Besides that, how do I *really* know it's a debt collector and not some scammer looking for info? Or, if you pick up the phone, you can say "this phone call is being recorded" and then see what they say!
