My son-in-law just lost his job and has not found a permanent job yet. He is in construction. he and my daughter live with me
because they cannot make it on their own rignt now. My daughter has been recovering from liver disease and has not worked for over a year. my son in law has been able to work odd jobs to pay for his truck payment and cell phone (needed for work). however, the only other bill they have is an unsecured loan with citi-financial and they just cannot make those payments at this time. they are 2 months behind and citi financial has threatened to file a warrant in debt leading to a judgment. my son in law and daughter have no assests, no home, no jobs and no money. I cannot help them other than giving them a place to lay their head and sharing my food.
I had to take out chapter 13 bancruptcy last year. I have told them to tell the creditor the situation and to do what they have to do and they will have to take bancruptcy as they also have medical bills. would it be better to just consult a bancruptcy attty or let citi financial go ahead and file a warrant in debt towards a judgment?
