I had a Dell account that has been placed with this company. I have paid them about 600.00 in the last two months but they want more and more. They set monthly amounts that I can't afford. I haven't talked to them in a while because they are so rude. I have been sending payments though. Has anyone dealt with them and how do you get them to lower their ridiculous payments? I got a little behind in my bills and I want to pay them off but they won't work with me.

I would certainly send a debt validation letter if you feel it is necessary. You should also sit down and work out a budget, as try your best to set aside some emergency money, like for a new tire or medicine, and then see what you have left to put into other bills. Never agree to what you can't afford because that will put you behind again.

Only settle an account after viewing all your options. Settlements are not always the best option.
