what can i do if after the time is up and collections didnt validate an account.in the letter it stated they had 30 days to validate it or delete it off all my credit reports.time is out for them on the 12th this month.how can i make sure its deleted?

You can pull-out the credit report from the credit bureaus to see whether it has been removed from your account or not. However, I doubt that the CA will be that prompt with their action. Many times it happens that one CA sells off the accounts which they can't validate to another company. Hence after a while the debt may again resurface and a all new CA starts calling you.

i got a letter from an lawyers office. Hanna Frederick. I sent them the 1st valid ltr and they sent me back a letter just stating who the original co was. I sent a second valid ltr they have not responded. From what I hear about this lawyer should I be concerned? I have not been served. Do you think I should check with the courts to see if anything has been filed? Or just send a 3rd valid ltr.

I LIVE IN GEORGIA SO THEY ARE LOCATED HERE. I'M TRYING NOT TO GET NERVOUS. I SEE THEY ARE VERY UNDER HANDED. THEY HAVE 2 ADDRESSES HERE AND I SENT THE LETTERS TO BOTH ADDRESSES. IT HAS BEEN TO QUIET. CAN YOU GUY'S GIVE ME SOME DIRECTION. THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE REPRESENTING ARROW FINANCIAL. THE LAST TIME I SPOKE WITH THEM 3 YEARS AGO MY DEBT WAS 3000.00 NOW THEY WANT 7600.00. I WANT TO KNOW HOW THEY GOT THAT NUMBER. AND TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE REPRESENTING AFS. I READ WHERE THEY CALLED A CLIENT AND CLAIMED THEY WAS REPRESENTING BOA AND THE CLIENT CALLED BOA AND THEY SAID THEY NEVER HIRED THEM.

That's where your debt validationletter comes into play-they have to give you the info- such as how the amount came to be, etc. Unless you live in Texas, and maybe Florida, there is no set time limit they have to respond.

You have 30 days to dispute the debt from the time they contact you on paper.

I have sent follow up letters requesting validation, and sent copies of the other letters with it. It didn't do any good in my case, but it may in yours--mine still hasn't validated.

good Luck..karen

I called the civil court to check to see if they have filed anything and they said there is nothing. So am I looking for a Bond? The clerk said there was nothing filed. I'm confused now since you said Bond. Can you explain.
