they cannot call,all collection activity must
stop until they can properly validate.there is
no time frame for this,but once they receive your DV letter they cannot attempt any collections
at all.

Paul, are you saying that even if you send a letter of validation to a CA after the 30 day window they give you, all attempts to collect must cease until you receive validation from them? I just want to be clear on this. :)

Ok...the 'Validation' thing again. Even if the CA CAN Validate debts, I've ACTUALLY heard of CA's getting BOGUS Validations, ya know? If this DOES happen, and you KNOW the Validation is bogus, what do you do? You can't really proof it.

a debt is owed until the sun goes supernova,but the timeframe which you can be sued is called the statute of limitations.it varies depending on the debt,and what state you are in.
