Need advice for daughter
Date: Wed, 12/12/2007 - 21:00
My daughter and her husband are being constantly hounded by collectors.
She had a baby with no insurance or any other aid. Due to complications her med bills are over 25,000.
Their biggest problem is a collection agency trying to collect from a repossessed car purchased through a buy here pay here place (big mistake on their part). They only had the car three months, got repoed, resold and now they are being charged $8,000. for the car. The collector is MRS and they are extremely rude and nasty.
Last month they called and had her in tears, after various threats she agreed to a $100. a month deducted from their checking account.
Their other car is financed through Capitol One and I think they have a bad loan.
Thanks! I'm new here and looking for help for my kids.

Hi john
For a start, never give any collector banking information. Your daughter is just as likely to call up the bank one day, and find her account cleaned out, regardless of what the collector "promises". Get any such agreements in writing. Have her to record the calls from now on, if legal in your state. No doubt what they were doing was breaking the law, (the fdcpa), And you can sue them for $1000 per violation, if well documented.
