Well first off I got into trouble with Pay day loans thru the internet. I was desparate to pay my vehicle loans since my husband had been out of work and then in March he just decided her couldn't take being unemployed any longer and he left me, drained our accts and I was stuck with Arrow financial and BIG for starters. Now I hvae this nightmare unfolding with Bass Associates calling me at work stating that they are going to turning me over to the state of PA as a frequent offender and that the state is cracking down and it is going to get ugly for me and they will come after my employer because I used my work email address. All this work for $611.00. I told this Helen schaar that she can't be callig me at work it is against the law and she doesn't listen. I gave them my cell number but to no avail she insists on calling me at work. My first contact with her was in early to mid april and she said I had 2 hours to get them the wire them the mney or they were sending my case over to the state. I told her there was no way I could come up with this money. that I needed to make payments. She wouldn't hear of it. she is going to keep it up till I lose my job. today she called saying she needed to talk to my supervisor and verify my employment. I laughed at her and told her you're calling me here aren't yoou? she said she still needs to verify my employment with him. I refused to put her thru to HR, which we don't have an HR dept anyway. But it is still annoying. she keeps threatening me with publicity and the state is gong to arrest me at my place of employment. How do I stop her? I have thought about hiring an attorney but I am barely making it now, I can't afford one. I can't afford to eat let alone hire an attorney. I need help!!!!

Hi codiesnonna. I am sorry about your situation with your husband. As for Bass and Associates, this is the worst of the worst in collectors. There are many, many people on this forum that have been abused, harassed, and threatened by them. First off, they cannot send you to jail for defaulting on payday loans. File a complaint with the Florida attorney general against them. There are people here that can tell you exactly how to do this. I am glad that you laughed at them when they asked to speak to your supervisor. They cannot come after your work, either. They are just trying to intimidate you into paying them. Please try to relax. You have come to the right place. I fortunately have not had to deal with them yet but my day may be coming because I have defaulted on several pdl's also. Someone will come along shortly and tell you exactly what to do to get Bass and Ass. off your case. We are here if you need us. Welcome to the forum-you have come to the right place.

Codies, go through the endless threads on Bass and Associates in this forum. They are the center of discussion and many people are finding this site everyday. You will be aware of their illegal tactics and they are trying the same thing on you. Don't feel intimidated by them. If their collections are genuine, they should be able to validate your account. By laws, you have the legal rights to ask for the details of the debt they got from the original creditor. I am quite sure they just don????????t have anything except your phone number. Be informed of your legal rights. If you know the name of the original creditor, try dealing with them directly.

First of all Bass is so ILLEGAL in their collection efforts it is not funny. They are being sued by several states as we speak. Second you need to contact your Attorney Generals office in PA. Payday lending is Prohibited there. They do have some loopholes there however there is a set interest rate. The Attorney Generals office can help you. The consumer division. Best Wishes KYSIDE38

Do not fall for any of the threats that Basshole gives you! They tried to pull that crap on me and i pretty much laughed at them (fortunately I had found this forum before i had to deal with them so i was prepared) I was told several times the police were coming to get me and yet no one has come to get me!They are just trying to intimidate you into giving them money! You have probably paid this loan in full already!
