verification process on paid debt

I'm guessing that you paid a debt and someone else (or the same collection agency) is trying to collect on it. If you could elaborate on this I will be able to better help you.

not knowing any better, i got a notice and figured the best thing to do was to pay it. i never got it verified or anything. would trying to verify it now help at all? no one's trying to collect right now.

Oh, send a validation letter at this point my not draw a response. You could always try. also try to get a paid in full letter from them at least.

A CA is not going to validate a debt after it is paid. No financial incentive to do so plus the file itself would be closed.

You need to get a zero balance letter from them though. Some places have a waiting period. Cal them up and ask when you can get your letter.
