I also received a colletion letter from Northland Group which they said, I have an outstanding debt on a credit card some 10 years ago. I asked them why it took so long to contact me and they said, they were trying to locate me. I find this very strange and I'm very suspicious.
The letter states an approximate amount of $2000.00 and they would settle for $220.00. I told them I was a victim of a credit card fraud around that time so they're asking me to send them a police report which I have. Being this is a suspicious matter, I'm not sure if I should.
Please advise.
