Garnishment Of Wages And Bank Account

Why do some creditors garnish wages and bank accounts and some do not? Is there any guidelines for this from the collectors angle? I have small debts with collectors making big threats and big debts I have not even heard from. I cannot make sense of their priorities.

Most of those are idle threats. They must first sue you and win. Then , depending on the state you live in, they may not be able to garnish wages or levy bank accounts. Find out your state laws regarding this and you may be able to sue them for making threats they can;t back up.
