I work for the federal government and also in the military and being sue for money from a creditor. It is leagal for them to garnish your wage and levy your bank account at the same time and your wage is being directly deposited into the levy account. I no longer live in the state of expected wage garnishment and now live and work in texas for the federal government. Can this follow me to texas?

You mentioned that you're being sued - does that mean that a judgement has already been entered or do you have an upcoming court date?

Also, I would imagine that when they attempt to garnish your wages and it doesn't go through because you are no longer at your previous job...they will figure out where you are based on your taxes. I'm sure someone else will come along with more specific info though :)

If you had a judgment placed against you in another state and you move to Texas I am almost positive that they would have to hire someone in Texas to enforce the judgment. It is up to the person who sued you not the court to enforce a judgment.

They can't garnish your wages in Texas I know that. I am not sure about your bank account though, someone else might know.
