Wait Days for Collection?

If you have an account and miss one payment, is there a certain number of days the credit card company must wait before they contact you (ie...bombard you with phone calls)? I have a credit card and forgot to mail the monthly payment. It is 4 days late as of today and the company has called my home and cell phone 9 times in the past 6 hours.

There is no exact laws that deal with this unless your state has unfair/deceptive trade practice statutes on the books covering it. Just inform them of when payment will be made and know they will probably move you to the default interest rate for being late.

That is exactly true. If you have one of those HSBC/Orchard Bank cards they are a pain if you are a couple days late. Most credit card compnies won't bother you until you start getting near the thirty day mark.
