I receive calls from this number daily like the other it's a man with a very thick accent. I have finally been able to understand the phone number that I was to call back but he told me his superior officer was busy he would call back in 15 minutes I have told him that my social security card was stolen and if I actually owed them money to please send me something in the mail and if it was my debt I would pay it. one friday I received 46 calls in less that a half an hour yesterday was 17 calls in less that 15 minutes I have had this number for years I really don't want to change it what do I do?

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!

Send a written notice to them to validate the debt. You don't need to change the number. This kind of things happen with a lot of people. If they don't send you a debt validation letter, then you must send a cease and desist letter via certified mail to them. If you still receive continuous calls from them, then you can report the matter to FTC.

well since the call are coming from INDIA a C&D is not possible.sorry but the only options are.

1)ignore them and they will go away.
2)change your number.

however use any numbers you have to file FTC complaints as they need alot before they will act,but they will act.again a scan in INDIA that needs to be reported, but if you don't want the calls changing your number is the only alternative.
