write off?

hi i just checked my credit report and saw an entry in the status that says: "written off" purchased by another lender..
now i think i know what the original creditor is. it used to be providian which got absorbed into Wamu and now its Chase?(correct me if im wrong).
under account history: "charge off as of dec 2005 to jun 2006. although the 30 days past due was as of feb 2005, jul 2004.
my question is, with california's SOL, did they write me off as will not attempt to collect debt on me? if i dont do nothing, will this eventually be off my credit report? what should i do?

It will drop off 7 year +180 days from the Date of First Delinqu
It will drop off 7 year +180 days from the Date of First Delinquency. Looks like its past the 4 year SOL as well.
