Well, what I can read about them on internet isn't very encouraging. They pretend to be a law firm working towards debt collection. And, yeah, there is a rip-off report against them too.

They don't PRETEND to be a law firm, they ARE one.
So there is ONE complaint on Rip-Off Report, and ONE on Complaints Board.
Only 8 people have ever sued them, and of that only 4 of those are FDCPA related, and those were in 2007 and 2006.
They have 2 BBB listings: 3 complaints (2 in the last year) and 2 complaints (1 in the last year).
They have been around for 12 years - since 1997 - and the fact that there is only 1 or 2 anonymous complaints speaks volumes. They are likely a good collector and follow the laws carefully. That sounds *very* encouraging to me, in all fairness. Pretty amazing for a debt collector to be so squeaky clean.

Great... I was thinking about sending them a payment by certified money order, just because if there is a suit, then at least I tried to pay them something... thanks for the heads up on this! I couldn't find anything really "bad" on them either... oh boy...
just wanted to update... got my summons in on the 08/27... sending out my answer tomorrow... oh well... f it. thanks for your help!
