Zenith Acquisition Group Question
Date: Sun, 08/01/2010 - 12:09
I have a situation and could use some advice on what to do next.
I was contacted by NOrthland Group to collect on an old debt to Shell. I sent a DV and they replied saying my account had been closed and returned to their client North Star Capital. I sent a dv to them with no repsonse, however, I faxed it not mailed it. (I know, stupid) anyway, I pulled a copy of my credit report and Zenith is listed under collections for the shell account. I know zenith and notrthstar are the same. My question is...the date of the 1st deliquency is listed as 8/2004 under last payment date it has N/A. I can no longer find any iformation on this on my credit report other than uder collections. I am not sure if I was in FL or KY when I took out this card so I am not sure of how the SOL comes into play on this. What do I do next? I know I need to send a DV to Zenith and will tomorrow. What else do I need to do? My employer has stated I have to get this resolved.

By get it resolved, does that mean off your credit report or you
By get it resolved, does that mean off your credit report or your employer wants you to pay it? The SOL only comes into play when you are concerned about being sued on the debt. If the account was never brought current, it should fall off your credit report in 89/2011 (7 years). If time is of the essence to protect your job, you may have to skip the formalities and work out a settlement.
