Isn't that the famous CA, Account Receivable Management?
What happened with you? Their are many stories to share. I heard few good experiences too.

They were nice ppl to start with and since I paid them some money. Now, I called in to let them know that I am not going to be able to make my last payment this month, and they get all RUDE. First one lady says that I can pay $50.00 which was great for me, then she says let me ask my manager if it is okay. Then she comes back and says that he says no b/c it is breech of contract. I never signed anything with them. Then he gets on the phone and I tried to explain to him what was going on and why I wasn't going to have the money for the payment this month. He gets all rude and says that I have to pay it or the time is coming. The time is coming for what???? LOL I told him that if they couldn't change the amount or the date that the check would bounce and he said I guess it will then. Then he starts talking about me getting the money from my family, I am already in debt myself and if I take their money, that's more debt. DUH!! I asked why the other lady said that I could pay $50.00 and he said b/c she doesn't know what she is talking about, and I replied with " I think that you should get new staff" and he yelled back "I think you need to get the money". I said well, deposit the check and if it bounces, guess what, it bounces, then I will just pay the creditor themselves. And I hung up..

Good job! Stick to your guns. I would guess that the worst that could happen is you go to court and the judge sees that you made several payments and tried to make the last payment in good faith and they wouldn't accept. My guess, he would rule in your favor.

I don't think they are going to take me to court. The least the can do is send it back to the original creditor, and that's only gonna be for $120.00...

Check with your original creditor if ARM posted your previous payments. I think you will be able to get an extension from them. They may ask you to make a small payment now.

Have you done a check on this company with the BBB? It's always interesting to find out their "reputation" this way. I wouldn't want a check to bounch so you can avoid the NSF charges from your bank. They could also tack on more fees to what you owe. They are always nice to get your money but boy if you can do it all at once, watch out. I've never dealt with this company myself. I would also check with the original creditor as well.
