These guys are slime and rarely work within the legal constraits of the law. They misrepresent the claim, who they are, what they do, etc. etc. Long list of abuses.

Actually, as someone who worked there some years ago, I would say as far as collection agencies go, CCA does their best to be fair and work with a debtor to arrange something manageable. They also are extremely careful to stick to the legal requirements for collection agencies. They are not slime at all; in fact, they go well out of their way to not be abusive. To be honest, I developed respect for this company.

These people are jerks. I told them my daughter does not live her and hasn't lived in for the past five years and that I hadn't heard from her since November. I told them to stop calling here. I had to contact the attorney general in Colorado to get the info I needed to stop the harrassment

These morons tried to pull off a big scam by claiming the phone is as secure as my online banking system run by JP Morgan Chase!

When told the monies would be sent to the client & not them they got agitated and tried threatening my credit rating so....if I had good credit they wouldn't be calling in the first place. They tried to "claim" that the customer will "write off the loan" and would go against me if filing for bankruptcy...not true because only the client has to file a law suit against me first and the amount is not enough to win judgment since it is with AT&T and would fall into small claims court.

Only AT&T can write off the charge and still it doesn't hold against me unless I try to get another phone from them.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

The names above are some of the ones used, all of the same comapny. They are abusive in thier calls and with numerous harassing phone calls even at places of work! If you have a problem with them (ie- not your debt, a debt that was paid, or a debt that you are in dispute with the company over) and they don't stop calling you after you've notified them, file on them in court. You can do this in any county Justice of the Peace couort for under $100. Keep your phone records handy and also be informed by looking over Finance Codes 392, Debt Collection. Those are the laws by which ALL collection agencies are to follow.
I have filed on them 11/24/10 and now waiting on a court date. They were abusive, demanding money, calling me at work numerous times even after being informed not to call me on my work phone, even calling my 84 year old parents at 8am demanding information!! They denied they did any of this in their attorneys court filed response, but thank God for phone records!!!
Stay informed!! Also contact your State Attorney Generals Office, the Federal Trade Commission, and your Better Business Bureau and file complaints. Easy to do on line!:D

It seems that a common theme here is to call the collectors "slime balls" and "scum bags", but in my opinion the ones that are scum bags are the people that are not paying their bills. These dead beats should go buy a short rope and find a tall bridge to jump off of and stop being drains on society.
