Consumer Disclosure and a Credit Report

A consumer disclosure is different from a credit report. It is not the one and same document.
Consumer Disclosure: this document reveals all the necessary information put on your file by the credit bureaus. It gives a detailed record of everyone who has viewed your file from the CRA's in the form of ‘inquiries.' You have the Federal rights to receive a copy of the disclosure each year.
Credit Report: this document reveals only a part of the information from your credit file. This also includes the number of credit grantor or any other party that have requested a report on you. The basic difference between the disclosure and the credit report lies in the amount of information put in it. A disclosure will contain certain inquiries that are open for your view only.
