Well, one thing I can share with you is that with my current employer, I do delinquent account calls. Here I am in a debt managment program, and I am probably going to end up like some of my clients.....

But, what I would like to share with you is that if you see that you are going to be unable to pay your creditors one month, give them a call before they start calling you or sending you letters in the mail. Even if they have started calling you, be sure to keep in contact with them and work things out with them. A majority of them appreciate that. I get phone calls or letters from clients or potential clients just telling me whats going on in their lives and they ask me, and the company I work for, to work something out to avoid something bad happening in the future. It's nice when you are able to work with clients and not have to chase down the ones who screw you over and ignore you (not saying anyone on here screws over or ignores their creditors).

Anyway, moral of the story, call your creditors when you are in trouble, get to know them and get on their good side. It may be VERY beneficial for you.

I've done that with a few creditors of mine, and they are understanding. They have lowered my interest rate, refunded late and NSF fees, and have even had my finance charges refunded and they have credited my account to help out. It hasnt gotten me debt free, but it's one step closer to that light in the tunnel.

Figured I would share some experience and help someone along the way and in the same shoes as me.

When I am having trouble and I call the finance co for the car, they are very understanding and are willing to bend over backwards for us. Sometimes, you have so many fires to put out, you get scared.

That's a good suggestion Zachman. It really works.

However, most of the members of this board are having problem with online payday lenders. These lenders are not willing to disclose their contact address and it is really difficult to find out where they are located. So when people anticipate falling behind with payments, it becomes tough to inform them.

That is the reason you will find lots of posts in this forum where members are asking for contact details of some lenders. Any thoughts?

Has anyone heard of a Pre Lidigation in Jacksonville Florida. I need an address for these people. I have tried to call them to ask them for it and they got real nasty with me. They also use the phone number of 732-203-7708.

Hi zachman, thanks for posting on this topic. I tend to be a bit spineless when it comes to calling a creditor before things go negative. I guess it stems from being embarassed. That is one of the main things that I am working on for myself, being able to talk to creditors with more backbone!!

You're welcome Mary.

The embarassment issue was big with me too. But, calling and talking with your creditors before anything goes negative can be a big impact, and now, I have no shame in calling them. They realize you are wanting to work things out rather than running away from the problem. If you end up waiting until the last minute, chances are, your creditors will not work out anything with you since you waited so long.
