BUT today, I got a copy of my credit report from transunion and two of my accounts have been updated. They were in 'charge off' mode, now they're showing 'pays as agreed'!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One was a home depot account that went into charge off. There was never a collection agency involved, I just started mailing payments on my own. Now they've changed my status!!!!!!!! I'm really happy about this! not really happy, but EXTREMELY happy!!!!! it means my dedication and hard work is paying off. I still have some more disputes to do on my husbands reports, but mine is almost as good as its going to get! which is good in a way...but I'm really working hard to get his straighted out because I don't work, so his credit is what our family uses.
thanks for listening!!! shirley
Shirley, How are you having success in getting things changed
Shirley,
How are you having success in getting things changed? I have disputed til I am disputed out and very minimal changed on the reports. Now I have a question I hope you can answer. We have accounts on our report that is showing charged off, but they are in consolidation, doesn't someone have to update as paying as agreed? I also found some accounts that were discharged in the bankruptcy in 2000 and they are showing discharged, but they are still updating the account. For example, my husbands Sears card was discharged and Sears as it showing updated 1/2006. How can they do this? I thought once it was discharged that it would be done and there was no need for them to keep changing the date. Doesn't that keep it on the report longer? Discover card was another one that was discharged also and they are showing charge off as of 12/2005. I have the bankruptcy papers and they clearly shows it discharged. Most of everything else is showing as it should be. Could you guide me in the direction of how you formatted your letters of dispute? My main goal is to straighten out hubby's credit because it is his report that the creditors pull beings I am not working. I have mine pretty well straightened out. Have one collection agency that hasn't reported paid in full from a doctor bill. Can I send the credit bureaus a copy of the cancelled check showing where I paid it in full?

Hey Brat!!!You know all I can tell you is determination! Actually I was shocked about these updates on MY report! I have been working extremely hard on my husbands report because as I stated, we depend on his because I don't work and hes the soul bread winner.(just like you in your situation)
So I haven't put as much into mine.
I had a dispute going on mine and while Transunion was at it, they updated the two accounts. While I am happy--I know now it just means MORE HARD work for me
because I have to get Equifax and Experian to report the same thing now. ANd thats the HARD PART!!! I've got to do that on my husbands too---getting every one to report the _same_ thing.

Okay Brat---from what I'm seeing on all of our reports--no it doesn't change the date that its due to fall off of your report. When they do an update--like on my husbands reports, the dell accounts have an update of 1/2006 but they're still showing that they'll drop off in 2009. It looks to me like even though Dell has done a charge off, they're still reporting it every month. His report is showing they
reported every month since the charge off. The
last update was 1/2006. I take it that when it says 'update' its the last time the creditor reported to the bureau. I would love for someone to jump in here on this because I was also wondering that if they did a charge off, who do they continue to report every month? is this legal and normal??? Thanks for raising up a question Brat that I've been meaning to ask. I think I have it understood though, as I explained it to you. I just don't understand WHY!! shirley

Shirley,
I can feel how much happy you are on your success with TU. It's the effect of your hard work that you put earlier. Congrats :D
Perhaps you are right on the credit report update issue. However, you can verify it by calling EQ also. Keep us updated if you call them.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I put in a search for 'how to contact wells fargo financial' and it gave me their main website. On it, I found an email of how to contact them. I wrote them a brief email explaining all the run around I've been getting and could someone PLEASE let me know whats going on with this account. they just emailed me back and said since the account was 'charged off' that I would have to contact their collection department and gave me the number to call. Hey--ITS SOMETHING!!!!!! I am going to give them a call tomorrow and see what they have to say. Hopefully I can work out some payment plan with them tomorrow and get the ball rolling! Then I just have to work on EVIL DELL!!! Shirley

Yay Shirley!!!!!!
It's about damn time you get a response from them! That is so funny that you got an e-mail address off the main website...after all the run-around! Good for you!
~Mary <---crossing my fingers for your phone call tomorrow!

thanks Mary!!!!! me and husband were talking though...and he wonders if maybe I should go back to the website and find the 'mailing address' there and write them another letter but address it to their collections rather than talk to them on the phone. He thinks they might be nasty with me and try to demand the whole amount or else. Wouldn't that be something, begged them to talk to me for a year and then when I finally get them, they'd be like 'oh yeah, you owe us money and we want it now'. He said this way, if they do respond, I have it in writing. I'm not sure. He has a point and I HATE talking to these people on the phone. But then again, at least maybe I can get the ball rolling. opinion please??? shirley

I think hubby might have a point! To have it in writing would be a great idea...since you have had so many problems with them to this point, I think you might want to go the technical way and write a letter. It would be a "quick fix" so to speak if you call, but who knows what will happen with that. That's my opinion, YMMV (your mileage may vary! LOL)
~Mary :)
Thanks Mary---I think thats what I will do. If they don't answer
Thanks Mary---I think thats what I will do. If they don't answer, I'll just have another item for my paper trail. And if they don't respond this time, I will call them after that, as my last resort.
I know with the small account that we had with wells fargo, the one I just paid off. I just started sending them money every month and did so until it was paid off. In the end, I had over paid and they sent me a check. On one hand I ask myself, why I don't just handle it that way, like I did before, with sending money every month until its paid in full. But that one was under $500 and this one that I'm talking about now is around $2100. So I would feel much more comfortable to at least hear something from them first and get some type of agreement. Some kind of something on paper, so I can rest knowing they're not going to try to sue me and that they are accepting my payments every month.

Just kidding :) I can't see any pictures in the gallery either...actually, I didn't know it existed until you said something. To find mine, I just googled "free Avatar" or something like that. I grabbed the one I liked, resized it in photoshop (its width can be no greater than 135 pixels, the height no greater than 100 pixels, and the file size no more than 17 KB) and put it up. Or you can do the same with a picture of you...I think you should do that! :)

In the forums gallery, you can't view the images there. You will have to select one checkbox, submit it to your profile and finally select the submit button. Your avatar will get live.
