Is it ok to use credit cards when in debt if I pay the balance in full?

Yes, you can use your credit cards when in debt. Charge your credit cards and make sure to pay off your outstanding balance amount in full on time. It can help you to improve your credit score. But I would suggest you to use your credit cards wisely. Else, you might end up getting trapped with another debt.

If you are talking about using the card on which you already have balance, then it’s better not to do so before you repay the existing balance. It will be difficult for you to repay the debt. Why to take additional debt when you can’t repay the existing one? Moreover, the longer you keep the debt, the more it’ll harm your credit report and score negatively.
And, if you’re thinking about using other cards, then ask yourself, will you be able to repay the outstanding balance at every billing cycle along with reducing and paying off debts in other cards. If you have opted for or think of opting balance transfer method, then it’ll be easier to repay the existing balances. If you’re confident that you’d be able to repay the transferred balance within the time frame, you can use other cards and repay the entire balance at every billing cycle.

You can use the card but that would invite more trouble in your life. You're just increasing your credit-utilization ratio. Your goal should be to reduce your credit card debt. Your plan shouldn't be to increase it. Pay off your debts first and use cash instead of using credit cards. In fact, I would ask you to make extra payments to get rid of credit card debt.

Dude! The next recession is expected to hit in the next 12-18 months. Situation would be worse next year. So, try to get rid of debt asap.
