Can a credit card company wipe out interest charge for not paying full bill once?

If I have been quite regular on making my credit card payments full every month for say about 5 years, will the credit card company consider if I'm not able to make the full payment once a month and request for no interest charges on the amount. I don't want any blemish on my credit report and reduction in credit score.

It depends on the goodwill of the credit card company. You can do 1 thing - at least try to make the minimum payment.

Really it depends how popular you are to your credit card company. But you may tell them that you plan to move the account if they don’t provide you that facility.

There's no harm in explaining your situation and requesting the credit card company to extend the payment due date if possible. But try to avoid such situations in the future.

If you have a good recod on bill payments in past, then the issuer may allow you to extent the payment time. Or they can offer you a better repayment policy.

It won't be a big problem if you can't make full payment once a month. You're making the minimum payment. Right? So there is no need to worry about late payments or fines. Just negotiate with the credit card company regarding the interest rate. Can you pay the full balance next month?
