Is credit counseling good?

Using a credit counseling service may sometime negatively affect your credit score. So it would be better for you to settle your debts on your own without entering into a credit counseling program.

If you go with a credit counseling service, please make sure you check them out to make sure they are reputable. There are some out there that will take your money and won't help you a bit. Be careful.....also know that credit counseling can have a negative affect on your credit report, but in the long run, no worse than not paying your bills. Like I said, if you decide to go this route, make sure your check out the company very carefully and make sure they really have your best interest. Good Luck/
