Welcome to the forums. Answering to your queries, these are the various status of a particular account in your credit report. It signifies whether your account is retained by a particular creditor or else, it has passed on to a collection agency for further collections.
If an account in your credit report is shown as sold to another agency, there should be a name of that company. Please look at it carefully so that you are able to know the name of the company.

Once the debt is past the SOL period, you can't be forced to pay it. Is your debt within the SOL period?
