I have lost my credit card. What should I do?

I misplaced my card along with my wallet yesterday and I am not able to find it in anyway. I think that I have lost it. I don't want my card to be misused. What should be the first thing that I will have to do? Can you please suggest me, I am not able to think right.

Do not panic, Kamilaa. Please do the following things to prevent misuse of your card.


  • Call the 24 hour call center of the credit card company and inform them about the loss.

  • File a complaint at the nearest police station and send a copy of it to the credit card company.

Your card will be de-activated the moment you have submitted your request about the loss. All the transactions will be blocked and you will be in the process of getting a new card. Take quick actions because all the fraudulent activities after you have submitted your request will be borne by them. So do not delay if you have not called the call center yet.
