Question about SOL and a Repo
Date: Sat, 10/07/2006 - 20:00
1. I have a charge off account on my Equifax report. The date the account was opened was 04/2000. I dont remember when a last payment was made and the date of last payment on the credit report is blank. However, the date reported says 07/2004. I have a few other accounts that are charge off accounts with no payments made in 5 or more years however there is a date in the date reported part of my credit report within the last 2 years or so. Can the collection company do something to put this date on my credit report? Does the SOL restart at this date which is in the date reported column? Or does the SOL still start at the date of last payment? When does the SOL start if there is no date of last payment on my credit report? If there isnt a last payment date, there will never be a SOL to drop it off my credit report.
2. I have a repo with Ford Credit The account was opened 09/1999 and repossessed 12/2002. In the comments on my credit report it says paid repossession. I did get a loan and refinanced the car and got it back from Ford Credit. How does this effect me as for as showing as a repo since it was paid? When will it drop off my report?
Thanks

The SOL restarts from the date of last payment. If you have no payment date in your credit report, the date of opening the account might be used for considering the sol. By this time, I assume that the SOL might have already expired. Did you confirm this with your creditors?
