Has anyone dealt with Lexington Law? They specialize in credit repair. I'm skeptical of most credit repair agencies. The only difference I see with this one is that they are a law firm, have results and testimonials posted on their site and offer what looks like a fair guarantee. I'm really looking at their do it yourself credit repair kit and I was wondering if they are reputable.

Keep two things in mind, you don't have to pay a fee for doing credit repair when you can do the same thing on you own. And, second, negatives items cannot be removed from the credit report before the FCRA reporting time. If a company says that negatives will be removed from the credit report, it's a way of making money from you.

What are you taking the credit repair package for? Go through your credit report from all the three bureaus and compare each entry. Dispute the items you feel is incorrectly shown in your file. The CRA will run an investigation with the original company. If your dispute is found correct, your file will be updated and your scores go up. For this, you would have otherwise, paid a fee to a credit repair company when you can do it on your own.

Credit scores also go down because of poor payment history and too many unpaid accounts. You have to pay your debts for improving the scores. Credit repair companies will charge a fee for advice only.
