i just want to clear my credit because i'm starting a new family and we plan to buy a house one day.

I did debt consolidation a couple of years ago, however If I

had to do it again I would pay to some minor details,
if someone wants to get out of debt today it is pretty easy

with a debt consolidation plan
however it may get a bit tricky at times, I suggest you get

as much information as possible online on this first,

a good place to start in my humble opinion is astraight to

the point ebook with question and answer I found after

doing a google search :

Find some credit repair tips in this thread and go through all the suggestions thoroughly. Credit repair is a thorough process. You won't see the results overnight, but if you remain dedicated, you will achieve the goal faster.

The first thing you need to do is pull your latest credit copies from all the bureaus and go through each of the tradeline. Find out if there are any incorrect items to dispute. You need to calculate the total debts and make payment arrangements with the creditors. Once you start clearing the accounts, they will update the items with the bureaus and this will raise your scores. Do not open new accounts when you are in the process of fixing your credit or applying for a loan. Accounts with very short credit history don't help when you are shopping for credit with the new lenders. The scores go down and when a new account is opened, there is no proven track record of it. Accounts shown with positive history are very helpful.

"what information can you give me that would help me in my situation? and how long will it take to clear my crediy history?"

That is depends on what you decide to tell us. If you want us to be able to give you advice for your situation, you have to give us details. You are asking questions for which there is no generic answer.

Steg and joseph have given you good starting points, but if your question was indeed "how can I clear my credit history," you cannot just wipe the slate clean. Generally speaking, negative entries will stay on your credit report for seven years.
